Updated 12 August: COVID-19 MAINFREIGHT HOME DELIVERY PROTOCOL

We use Mainfreight for the majority of our NZ wide furniture deliveries outside of Auckland and Christchurch.

We sought clarification from Mainfreight as to the steps they would take when delivering Corcovado orders around NZ, during Level 3.

Mainfreight issued the below statement to us on 12 August 2020:

"Last night, 11 August 2020 the New Zealand Government announced the detection of community spread in the Auckland region.

As a result, from midday today 12 August the Auckland region, from Wellsford in the North to Bombay in the South, will move from Alert Level 1 to Alert Level 3. Our understanding remains that Auckland’s borders will be policed with checkpoints.

The rest of New Zealand will move to Alert Level 2 restrictions.

These Alert Levels remain in place until midnight Friday 14 August.

Accordingly, we will retain full nationwide Transport, Warehousing and Air & Ocean services.  Mainfreight will maintain all appropriate safety protocols, including contactless interface at pick-up and delivery to ensure our customers and team members remain safe. From midday 12 August public access will be restricted for drop-off and collection from all of our Auckland sites.

Alert Level 3 home deliveries in Auckland requiring placement inside the home will require special consideration on a case by case basis, with a view to protect the integrity of the receiver’s home bubble.  No restrictions apply for the rest of New Zealand.

We ask for your patience as our teams navigate a new challenge with New Zealand adopting two levels of COVID-19 restrictions".

The following is Mainfreights (Alert Level 3) contactless delivery service, with measures that will eliminate interpersonal contact and reduce our driver team’s exposure while at the household.

  • During our pre-delivery call we will be asking receiver’s questions around their health status and if any household members are in self-isolation due to having the virus, close contact or recent travel. Deliveries to these properties will be managed on a case by case basis.
  • With all home deliveries when arriving at a residence, we will knock, step back ensuring 2 metre exclusion zone is in place. This will need to be adhered to at all times between the receiver and our team.
  • If requested, we will deliver the item into the appropriate room of the house and place in position, as long as this can be completed safely and does not require the delivery team to touch or move any existing items within the residence.
  • Our drivers will print the receivers name on the consignment note, as signatures will not be requested. A photo will be taken of where the item is left.
  • No in-house installations will be undertaken until further notice.
  • No returns from private premises will be accepted until further notice.
