This over-sized vase has been sculpted by villagers in Lombok, Indonesia. Spun on a table by hand, the decorative motif is finished with layers of paint which is applied and finely combed over many days. The drying process remains as it was 100 years ago: in a low-heat, open-air kiln, using coconut husks as fuel.
Note: As terracotta is not 100% waterproof, these vases as designed for decoration only, not for water usage.
